Ø He is an Al Umma hardliner and staunch supporter of ‘Kovai’ Basha (S.A.Basha).

Ø In 1992, Imam Ali ( who was killed In a shoot out on 29.9.2002 at Bangalore along with his associates 1. Mohammed Ibrahim of Narayanapuram, Madurai 2. Manga basheer @ Anwar of Melapalayam, 3. Seeniappa @ Seeni Sultan Mohideen @ Saifullah of Narayanapuram, Madurai and a woman namely Yasmin said to be the W/o Seeniappa) met him when he stayed with his elder brother Rafeeq Ahmed in a leather godown at Periamet in Chennai.
Ø He took Imam Ali and his associate Hyder Ali to his house at Vaniambadi.
Ø There they conspired to kill Sreethar of Hindu Makkal Katachi at Vadaseri where Sreethar was scheduled to address a public meeting.
Ø In pursuant of their plot they purchased 25 detonators at Kudiyatham and test fired the detonators at the backyard of the house of Mustaq Ahmed at Vaniyampadi.
Ø Imam Ali and Hyder Ali rushed to Vadaseri in Mustaq Ahmed’s TVS 50 targeting Sridhar. However their plan turned abortive. Then they returned to Periamet in Chennai along with Mustaq Ahmed.
Ø On 8.8.'93, they along with the frontline functionaries of Al Umma incluing S.A.Basha and the Jihad committee including its founder leader Palani Baba caused a powerful explosion in the R.S.S Headquarters office building at M. V. Naidu St, Chetpet, Chennai , resulting in the death of 11 inmates(Kasinathan - Desikan - P.S.Seshadri -Ramasubramanian -Balan- Rajendran -RamakrishnaReddi - Premkumar - Mohana Premkumar,Ravindran and a female Lalitha) of the building and RSS members, causing injuries to 7 other inmates.
Ø Since then Mustaq is absconding.
Ø The Government of Tamilnadu has announced a reward of Rs.2/- lakhs for furnishing information leading to his arrest.
