Ø Absconding since 1996.
Ø Staunch supporter of ‘Kovai’ Basha and hardliners of the proscribed outfit Al-Umma.
Ø In 1996, he along with his associates gained entry into the residential quarters of the Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Coimbatore to eliminate the DIG, Prison. Warder Boopalan was done to death when he questioned their suspicious entry. (B-4 Race Course PS Cr.No.917/96)
Ø In the same year, he along with his associates murdered one Alim George for his alleged anti – Islamic activities. (Nagore P.S. Cr. No.464/96)
Ø In 1997, he along with his associates of Al Umma, came in motor cycles to Madurai from Coimbatore, and carried out the ‘Fatwa’ of murdering Jeyaprakash, the Asst. Jailor of the Central Prison, Madurai right in front of the prison for his alleged excess against Muslim inmates of Madurai Prison (Madurai City Karimedu P.S. Cr. No.1861/97)
Ø He played a key role in the ghastly serial bomb blasts in Coimbatore which claimed the lives of 58 persons besides inflicting injuries to more than 250 persons in February, 1998. (Coimbatore City B1 Bazaar P.S. Cr. No.151/98)
Ø The Government of Tamilnadu has announced a reward of Rs.2/- lakhs for furnishing information leading to the arrest of ‘Tailor’ Raja.
