Identification of Quality Resource Persons
In order to utilize the expertise and knowledge available outside the training establishment the Police Trianing Colllege has embarked on a process of identification of quality resource persons all over the State.
So far 150 resource persons have been identified in Chennai and 1200 in the districts. The resource persons are from varied areas and institutions such as Indian Institute of Technology, Anna University, Software Companies, Madras University, IMAGE, other Higher Institutions, High Court Lawyers, Doctors, Psychiatrists, Sociologists, Psychologists, social Organisations, NGOs, etc.,
Introduction of new inputs into the training curriculum
New inputs like gender sensitization, computer education, community policing, civil aviation security, disaster management, human rights, driving skills and number of other relevant inputs have been introduced in the curriculum.
Constant review and up-gradation of Course Material
The Police Training College has already prepared qualitative course material on the following subjects in the last 9 months. This is a constant and expanding exercise

Continuous Monitoring and evaluation of training
At present lot of emphasis is being given to continuous monitoring and evaluation of training on day to day basis and also on fixed regular intervals by getting feed backs from the trainees and the trainers, records of training, performance and progress reports and direct on the spot evaluation by officers.In view of the large numbers of trainees in recent times a computer based training evaluation software is planned to be developed.
Computerisation
The Police Training College and the other training institutions have already undertaken a process of computerization at all levels. These include
